The Trust is the first Sharia compliant, listed Real Estate Investment Trust (‘REIT’) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, since 2 January 2017, on the Bahrain Bourse.

The Trust’s primary objective is to maximise stable income generation for the unitholders.

EBRIT currently comprises two income-generating and unleveraged properties:

  • Segaya Plaza, a mixed-use retail and residential property in Manama, with 105 residential apartments and 15 high street retail outlets.
  • Danaat Al Madina, a mixed-use property development in Isa Town, with two office buildings and 44 retail units.

Ebdaa For Microfinance, Bahrain

Ebdaa For Microfinance was established in 2009, as the first microfinance company in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Its goal is to support low-income families by providing support through microfinance opportunities to start a new business, become financially independent and enhance their quality of life. Eskan Bank is a founding shareholder of Ebdaa and holds a 17.1 per cent stake.

BALEXCO

Bahrain Aluminium Extraction Company (‘BALEXCO’) was established in 1977 to engage in metal casting and was the first aluminium extrusion plant in the Arabian Gulf. It was founded to meet the increasing demand for aluminium extrusion and finished products that are used in both the domestic and regional market. Eskan Bank holds a 2.65 per cent stake in BALEXCO.
